He came into the service of the Byzantine emperor and became an officer in his guards. Harald's great military feats became widely known and have been described in Byzantine sources. As a 30-year old, Harald returned to Norway and brought with him an enormous silver treasure. He also brought with him knowledge of imperial power and strategy as well as cunning and intrigue from the Byzantine court. I'm planning to make a "Knarr" in Anatolia. Then I will go back to Scandinavia with my eight friends, to follow the path of Harald Sigurtharson and other Vikings.
